What is a Doodle?
A doodle is the result of any breed of dog mixed with a Poodle. Doodles are popular because they take the best qualities of each breed and put them into one dog. For example, let's take a look at the Bernedoodle . . .
What is a Bernedoodle?

A Bernedoodle is a mix between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle.

The Bernese Mountain Dog is a large breed dog with a soft, but dense, coat. Once past the puppy stage, they are calm, loyal members of the family. They do great with kids and other pets and enjoy being with the family.
The downside to a Bernese Mountain Dog is that they shed a LOT. And, their lifespan is only 6-9 years.
Why mix with a Poodle?
When the Bernese Mountain Dog is mixed with a poodle, a couple of great things happen.
First, the temperament. You get the playful goofiness and intelligence of the Poodle combined with the loyal nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog. This means your Bernedoodle will love spending time outside with you, just as much as he loves lying next to you on the couch.
Second, the Bernedoodle is pretty much non-shedding. Yay! People with allergies usually do great with Bernedoodles.
Third, the lifespan of a Bernedoodle is 12-15 years. Much longer than that of a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog.
What is an Australian Mountain Doodle?
An Australian Mountain Doodle is a mix between a Bernedoodle and an Aussiedoodle (Australian Shephard + Poodle).

The Aussiedoodle is typically a very active, athletic dog. They are very intelligent and love agility courses and going for runs.

When mixed with a Bernedoodle, they keep their athleticism, but it's toned down. They still love to stay active! But they are also chill, oversized lap-dogs when you want them to be. Best of both worlds!
They come in different sizes?
Yes! By breeding with different sized Poodles, you can get different sizes of Doodles. Here are the standard sizes:
Micro/Toy 10-25 pounds
Mini/Medium 25-55 pounds
Standard 55-90 pounds
Currently, we are breeding Miniature Bernedoodles and Miniature Australian Mountain Doodles, which should weigh 30-40 pounds when full-grown. In 2024, we will add Micro Mini Bernedoodles to our program. They will be 20-25 pounds as adults.
Explain the generation stuff!
Understanding what type of Doodle you are getting is important, but can be confusing. These are the most common doodle generations:
Starting Breed + Poodle = F1 Doodle
F1 Doodle + Poodle = F1b Doodle
F1b Doodle + Poodle = F1bb Doodle
F1 Doodle + F1 Doodle = F2 Doodle
F1 Doodle + F1b Doodle = F2b Doodle
F1b or Later + F1b or Later = Multigeneration Doodle
